Elsa Gidlow, Canadian/American lesbian poet, was born in Hull in 1898.
There were a Hull GLF and a Hull CHE group in the 1970s.
Hull LGBT Forum is a voice and representative body for LGBT people in Hull and the East Riding. Hull Pride has been celebrated since 2001.
Colin Inglis was elected Lord Mayor of Hull in 2011.
The SHOUT Group is a confidential group supporting young LGBT people aged 16 to 25. Step out and Hull Unicorns also meet in Hull.
The LGBT+ Youth Network is a partnership between Cornerhouse, The Warren, East Riding Council and TPSG Hull - aiming to support LGBT+ young people in Hull and East Riding Council, bringing the youth groups together to increase support and amplifying the voices of the LGBT+ communities.
TPSG Hull and TPSG Hull Dragons are support groups for local trans people.
The Polar Bear is a former gay pub.
Hull & East Yorkshire Transcendence (HEY Transcendence or HEYT) is a peer support group for all gender non-conforming people in Hull and the East Riding of Yorkshire.
