West Somerset shown within Somerset
West Somerset is a former local government district in Somerset. The main towns were Minehead and Watchet. In 2019 it merged with Taunton Deane to form the new district of Somerset West and Taunton.

LGBT history

The science fiction writer Arthur C Clarke was born in Minehead in 1917.
