A Combined Authority is a type of local government institution introduced in England outside Greater London by the Local Democracy, Economic Development and Construction Act 2009.
As of 2017 there are nine Combined Authorities:
- Cambridgeshire and Peterborough (covering the Ceremonial county of Cambridgeshire
- Greater Manchester (covering the metropolitan county of Greater Manchester
- Liverpool City Region
- North East
- Sheffield City Region
- Tees Valley
- West Midlands
- West of England
- West Yorkshire
