Pav Akhtar
Pav Akhtar (born 1977) is a trade union official and former Labour councillor in Lambeth.

In 2007 he was listed number 50 in the Pink News list of the 50 most powerful LGBT people in British politics. The citation said:

"He came within 28 votes of becoming President of the National Union of Students, but Pav Akhtar claimed a potent mix of Islamophobia and homophobia denied him victory. The first non-white President of the Cambridge University Students Union, Pav worked as a journalist for the Daily Telegraph and is now employed by UNISON, the trade union."[1]

He is a board member of UK Black Pride.
