The preserved county area located within Wales
Mid Glamorgan (Welsh: Morgannwg Ganol) is a former county in South Wales. It was created in 1974.

The county was abolished in 1996, and replaced with four unitary authorities: Bridgend, Merthyr Tydfil, Rhondda Cynon Taf, and part of Caerphilly. Mid Glamorgan was retained for ceremonial purposes as a preserved county. The boundaries of the preserved county were later adjusted to put the whole of Caerphilly in Gwent.

The South East Wales LGB Forum was formed in 2004.

Mid Glamorgan is part of the South Wales Police area.
