Mandy McBain is a former naval officer, now working for Stonewall.

She joined the Royal Navy in 1986 as a Writer, and went to Britannia Royal Naval College in 1989. She rose to be a Lieutenant Commander, and Chair of the Naval Service LGBT Forum.[1]

On leaving the Navy in 2012 she became a Client Account Manager with Stonewall's Workplace team.[2]

She was ranked number 51 in the Pink List 2010, 58 in the Pink List 2011 and 73 in the Pink List 2012. The Pink List 2012 citation (which described her oddly as "soldier") went on to say:

"McBain received an MBE in the 2011 New Year's Honours list in recognition of her work fighting discrimination in the armed forces, both British and International. As the UK's most senior gay officer, McBain has worked with countless military groups to rescind LGBT prejudice."[3]
