The labrys symbol
The labrys (Greek λάβρυς) is a double-headed axe. It is particularly associated with the Minoan civilisation in Crete, and the word "labyrinth" (Greek λαβύρινθος, labyrinthos) applied to the palace at Knossos is thought to have meant "the house of the axe".

In modern times the labrys has become used as a symbol of lesbianism.
