The Edge bar, so named because it stands on the edge of Soho Square, was one of the very first modern gay bars in London. Before The Village and the Edge, gay bars had been traditional British pubs, often with blacked out windows so that punters could not been seen from the street. It was originally founded by Andrew from Mantis bar in Manchester, but is now part of the group that runs Kudos at Charing Cross, London, and Kazbar in Clapham.
