The Labour Party is a British political party. It was founded in 1900, and replaced the Liberal Party as the official opposition in 1922.

There have been Labour governments as follows:

  • 1924 (Ramsay MacDonald)
  • 1929–31 (Ramsay MacDonald)
  • 1945–51 (Clement Attlee)
  • 1964–70 (Harold Wilson)
  • 1974–79 (Harold Wilson; James Callaghan)
  • 1997–2010 (Tony Blair; Gordon Brown)

Additionally Labour MPs participated to varying extents in "National" or coalition governments between 1931 and 1945.
