Simon Walsh is a gay barrister and Alderman in the City of London.

He represents Farringdon Without ward in the City's Court of Aldermen, and was chair of the City's Police Committee from 2001 to 2005.[1] His prefessional activity has included prosecuting police officers accused of disciplinary offences.

In November 2011 he was arrested and charged with possessing "extreme pornography" under Section 63 of the Criminal Justice and Immigration Act 2008. The charges relate to images of gay fisting and other activities which are in themselves perfectly legal.[2] On 8 August 2012 a jury found him not guilty on all charges[3]. The Crown Prosecution Service have been severely criticised for bringing the case to court.[4]
