Kate Tempest (born Kate Esther Calvert, 1985) is a poet, spoken-word artist and playwright. In 2013 she won the Ted Hughes Award for her work Brand New Ancients. In 2015-16, she was a visiting fellow in the Department of English at University College London.She was listed number 90 in the Rainbow List 2014. The citation said:
