Sandwell is a metropolitan borough within the West Midlands. It was formed in 1974 by amalgamating the former county boroughs of Warley and West Bromwich, and includes the Black Country towns of Blackheath, Cradley Heath, Oldbury, Rowley Regis, Smethwick, Tipton, Tividale, Wednesbury, and West Bromwich. It takes its name from the former Sandwell Priory, rather than from any of the constituent towns.There is a Sandwell LGBT Community Group.[1]
Summit House provides support for people affected by HIV in Sandwell and Dudley.[2]
An LGBT reading group meets monthly in Smethwick Library.[3]
