Lord Alli, 2010
Waheed Alli, Baron Alli (born 1964) is a businessman and Labour politician. His parents are both from the West Indies, but of Asian heritage: his father is Muslim, from Guyana, and his mother Hindu, from Trinidad. Alli himself is Muslim. He has two brothers, one Muslim and one Hindu.

From humble beginnings, he worked in the media, investment banking, and television. Alli and Charlie Parsons are business partners as well as life partners.

In 1998 he became the youngest member of the House of Lords, as well as the first openly gay peer. He is a strong supporter of LGBT causes, particularly those affecting young people.

During the passage of the Equality Act 2010 he promoted an amendment which removed the ban on civil partnerships being conducted on religious premises.

Lord Alli was numbered 70 in the Pink List 2011, 9 in the Pride Power List 2011, 2 in the World Pride Power List 2012 and 7 in the World Pride Power List 2013.
