South Lanarkshire is a council area in Scotland. It was created in 1996, from the Clydesdale, Hamilton and East Kilbride districts, and some outer areas of Glasgow, in the former Strathclyde region. Lanark was at one time the county town of Lanarkshire.LGBT history
Staff at South Lanarkshire Council run a weekly group (the "Skittles" group) for LGBT young people at Universal Connections in Hamilton.[1][2]
