London Frontrunners at the Green Belt Relay 2011

London Frontrunners is a running club for lesbians, gay men and gay-friendly people who love running. Our members range from recreational joggers to competitive road racers and marathon runners. Regardless of your level of fitness, your pace or you preferred distance you will find members to run and train with. We have regular runs four times a week (Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays & Saturdays) in two of London's most beautiful parks (Regent's Park and Hyde Park) and along the South Bank. The distances normally range from 2 to 6 miles and we have between 20 to 40 runners at each session.

But, don't worry, London Frontrunners isn't all about running. We have drinks or brunch after the runs in pubs or breakfast places near the changing facilities. We also have regular social events, such as first drinks of the month, but our members have also organised skiing trips, wine tasting sessions and weekends in the countryside.

For the most up-to-date information, please click on our webpage[1] or Facebook[2] page. Whether you are running for fun, competition, fitness, or just want to get to know other runners, we hope that can join us. We look forward to welcoming you soon!

Who would have thought that a small group of like-minded individuals who gathered for a run on a Saturday morning in Hyde Park could develop into a hugely successful gay and lesbian running club with over 300 members in 2011?

London Frontrunners is part of a world-wide network of gay and lesbian "Frontrunners" running and walking clubs. The name “Frontrunners” was inspired by Patricia Nell Warren's novel The Front Runner[3], a story about the relationship between an ex-Marine track coach and his Olympic athlete training for the 1976 Olympic Games.
