Rosemary Manning (1911-1988) was a British author of both adult and children's books. Her novel 'The Chinese Garden' was published in 1962 and is considered to be an important book in lesbian literature. Manning appeared in an episode of the London Weekend Television series Gay Life (1981 where she stated regretting having lost some much potential to her life by being 'in the closet'. She created a series of children's books known as the Dragon series.
