Helen Lowe, 1944-2011, was a feminist, community activist, and campaigner. She grew up in a secular Jewish family in postwar Glasgow. During the 1970s she was active in the women's liberation and lesbian liberation movements. Later she worked mainly in publishing and journalism, as co-founder of Dark Moon community typesetters, and contributor to Spare Rib and City Limits.
