Northamptonshire is a county in the East Midlands that contains seven local government districts. Northampton is its county town and is the central hub for the LGBT community in Northamptonshire. There are smaller pockets of communities in Kettering, Corby, Wellingborough, Rushden and Daventry.

LGBT history

Out Proud & Equal in Northamptonshire (OPEN) was an LGBT community group.

"Unfortunately OPEN is looking to dissolve in the Autumn 2012 due to 9 months of inactivity and the emergence of 2 new successful groups in the county called "FAN" and "Progress" that are doing similar work."[1]
