Libertas bookshop logo
Libertas was a lesbian bookshop in York and subsequently an online store.

It began as a women's bookshop in Gillygate York in November 1998, owned by Jenny Roberts and Ann Croft. The lesbian booklist Dykelife was launched in 1999, and the website in 2000. In 2002 Jenny Roberts founded the York Lesbian Arts Festival. In 2003 the shop was closed to concentrate on the mail order side. In 2004 Libertas was bought by the Millivres Prowler Group but continued as an independent business run by lesbians for lesbians.[1]

By 2010 the website was redirecting to DivaDirect and the domain name is now used by an unrelated organisation.
