John Morrison ( known as "Hobbit",[1] died 2012 aged 50) was a solicitor and Liberal Democrat politician.
He was educated at Glasgow University, and worked as head of the legal department of Glasgow City Council. He was leader of East Dunbartonshire council from 2003 to 2007.[1]
John Morrison was married and had a daughter, but later divorced, and in 2007 found a new partner, David Evans.[2]
In December 2012 he was attacked in the street in Glasgow while on his way home to Milngavie, and died. His assailant, Darren Murphy, was jailed for five years.[3]
