Health Equality and Rights Organisation (HERO) is the official name (since 2011) of the charity previously known as GMFA (Gay Men Fighting AIDS). The name has been adopted to reflect the new focus of the organisation on health issues affecting all LGBT people. The GMFA branding is being kept for issues related specfically to gay men's sexual health.[1]
