Shakespeare's birthplace
Stratford-upon-Avon is a town in Warwickshire. It is the main town in the local government district of Stratford-on-Avon (note the intentional difference in the names). It is mainly known as the birthplace of William Shakespeare.

LGBT history

The novelist Marie Corelli lived for many years in Stratford with her companion Bertha Vyer.

There has been a South Warwickshire Gay Group, meeting in Stratford-upon-Avon and Leamington Spa.[1]
