County Tyrone is one of the historic six counties of Northern Ireland. The main towns are Omagh, Cookstown, Dungannon and Strabane.Most local government functions are now carried out by the district councils:
- Dungannon and South Tyrone
- Omagh
- Strabane
- most of Cookstown
- a very small part of Fermanagh.
