Berwick-upon-Tweed is the most northerly town in England. It was previously in Scotland, and gave its name to the former Scottish county of Berwickshire, but since 1482 it has been included in Northumberland.

In 2013 a Berwick Beach Barbecue was held for local young LGBT people.[1]
