He studied History of Art at [[King's College, Cambridge]]. He is or has been Chairman of the Falkland Stewardship Trust, Chairman of the Falkland Society, Archivist and Trustee of Hopetoun House, Chair of the Falkland Community Council, and Secretary of [[CHE]].
