'''Bournemouth CHE Group''' was a [[CHE group]] for [[Bournemouth]] and the surrounding area. It was originally set up in October 1971 as '''South West Hants CHE Group''' (also known as '''South Hants CHE Group'''). It was recognised as a [[CHE group]] in December that year.<ref>''[[Amiable Warriors]]'' Volume One, page 574.</ref> In 1971, "South West Hants" would have included [[Bournemouth]] and [[Christchurch]], which were transferred  from [[Hampshire]] to [[Dorset]] in 1974.

The group was renamed '''Southampton/Bournemouth CHE''' and subsequently '''Bournemouth CHE Group''', a separate [[Southampton CHE Group]] having been fuonded in November 1972.
