[[File:Lislogo.png|thumb|LIS logo]]'''Lesbian Information Service''' was a research and information service for [[lesbian]]s throughout the UK. It was set up by [[Jan Bridget]] and [[Sandra Lucille]] in 1987.

Activities included: training, publications, research, information, and developing a research library on lesbian and gay health and social issues.

The Service ceased to operate in 1998 its website has been preserved (and archived via the [[UK Web Archive]]. The research library and archive is now available at Lancashire Records Office, [[Preston]]. Jan Bridget went on to set up and run [[GALYIC]] (Gay and Lesbian Youth in [[Calderdale]]) as well as developing further on-line resources for the Department of Health.
