The '''London Gay Symphony Orchestra''' ('''LGSO''') was founded in May 1996 by a group of friends led by [[Robin Gordon-Powell]], who was the Orchestra’s first conductor. It gave its first performances as a full symphony orchestra in October 1996 at the [[Drill Hall Theatre]].

The Orchstra aims to provide a safe and supportive space for musicians of all sexualities, playing to a high standard but still offering space for players of all abilities.
