Sussex is an historic county in south-east England, roughly corresponding to the ancient kingdom of the same name. It is divided into three sdministrative areas: the counties of East Sussex and West Sussex, and the city of Brighton and Hove. Sussex has its own police force.

There was a Sussex Gay Liberation Front in the early 1970s.
