Newport

Newport is a city and local government area in South Wales. It was formerly in Monmouthshire and for ceremonial purposes it is within the preserved county of Gwent.

Newport Cathedral is the seat of the Church in Wales Bishop of Monmouth.

LGBT history

There was a Newport (Gwent) CHE group in the 1970s.

Newport Pride is held annually.
