The City of Salford is a metropolitan borough in Greater Manchester. Salford Quays, on the Manchester Ship Canal, has been redeveloped as a major cultural and media centre.

LGBT history

The composer Peter Maxwell Davies was born in Salford.

Out IN Salford is the local LGBT network.[1]
