Carmarthenshire
Carmarthenshire (Welsh: Sir Gaerfyrddin) is a county in South Wales. In 1974 it was divided into three districts within the larger county of Dyfed. In 1996 the county was re-established, as a unitary authority. For certain ceremonial purposes it is still considered to be within the preserved county of Dyfed. The main towns are Llanelli, Carmarthen and Ammanford.
LGBT history
The 19th century writer Vernon Lee came from a Carmarthenshire family.
In 1984 Dr Roger Thomas, MP for Carmarthen, was convicted of importuning in a public lavatory.
Gay Ammanford is a social and support group for the LGBT community in Carmarthenshire.[1]
