HEATH-STUBBS, John OBE FRSL FEA (1918-2006) Poet. He was brought-up at Barton-on-Sea and New Milton. All his life John was a divided personality - ensnared between the traditionalist Hampshire of his youth and the permissive Soho of his mature years. He hated the word 'gay' and preferred 'queer' (blissfully unaware of its recapture by the Left).
