Royal Borough of Greenwich

The Royal Borough of Greenwich is an inner London Borough in south-east London, originally in Kent. It was formed (as the London Borough of Greenwich) in 1965 by merging the former metropolitan borough of Greenwich with most of Woolwich. It became a Royal Borough in 2012 to celebrate th Queen's Diamond Jubilee.
Greenwich is notable for the magnisficent former Royal Naval College facing the river, plus the National Maritime Museum and the former Rouyal Observatory, which defines the Greenwich Meridian (0° longitude) and Greenwich Mean Time. The North Greenwich peninsula is the site of The O2 (formerly the Millennium Dome).
The Metro Centre is a well-established lesbian and gay centre.
