The infinite heart, a symbol sometimes used for polyamory

Polyamory has been defined as ""consensual, ethical, and responsible non-monogamy", in other words having more than one intimate relationship at a time, with the consent of everyone involved.

The term, in the form "poly-amorous" is thought to have originated in a 1990 edition of the American neo-pagan magazine Green Egg.

In 2013 the Liberal Democrat politician Sarah Brown was reported to be in a polyamorous relationship.[1]
