The University of Chester was founded in 1839 as Chester Diocesan Training College. It was subsequently called University College Chester and Chester College of Higher Education, becoming a university in its own right in 2005. It has two campuses in Chester and one in Warrington.

LGBT societies

Chester Pride LGBT Society (the University's LGBT society) was a member of the LGBT Consortium in 2012.[1]
