Redcar and Cleveland located within North Yorkshire

Redcar & Cleveland is a unitary authority in the ceremonial county of North Yorkshire. From 1974 to 1996 it was a district named Langbaurgh-on-Tees within the county of Cleveland.

LGBT history

The lesbian campaigner Esmé Langley was born in Guisborough in 1919.

In 2010 the local NHS Trust became a Stonewall Diversity Champion.[1]
