Cambridgeshire is a county in the East of England, now considered to be part of East Anglia. The present county was formed in 1972, including not only the historic county of Cambridgeshire but also Huntingdonshire, the Isle of Ely, and the Soke of Peterborough. It currently comprises the City of Cambridge and four other districts, plus the City of Peterborough which is now a unitary authority.
