Purbeck is a former local government district in Dorset. In 2019 it became part of the new Dorset Council area. It included the picturesque Isle of Purbeck (actually a peninsula). The main towns are Wareham and Swanage.

The beach and sand dunes at Studland Bay have long been popular with gay men.[1]
