Stoke Newington is a district and former metropolitan borough, now within the London Borough of Hackney.

LGBT history

The singer Johnny Brandon was born there.

Blush is a local lesbian cafe bar[1]

In 2011 homophobic stickers were posted in Shoreditch and Stoke Newington.[2]

Elly Barnes teaches at Stoke Newington School.
