Location of North Somerset within Somerset

North Somerset is a unitary authority in south-west England, within the ceremonial county of Somerset. From 1974 to 1996 it was the Woodspring district of the short-lived county of Avon. The main town in the area is the seaside resort of Weston-super-Mare.

LGBT history

Robert Carr, 1st Earl of Somerset, was born in Wrington in 1587.

There is a Wiltshire, Gloucestershire and North Somerset group of the Gay Outdoor Club.[1]

There is a North Somerset LGBT Forum.
