Wellington College gateway

Crowthorne is a village in the Bracknell Forest district of Berkshire. It is mainly noted for a public school, Wellington College, founded 1859, and a maximum security mental institution, Broadmoor Hospital, founded 1863.

LGBT history

Edward White Benson was the first headmaster of Wellington College, and several of its former pupils have been gay.

Past or present Broadmoor inmates have included Ronnie Kray and David Copeland.
