North Tyneside is a metropolitan borough in Tyne and Wear. It includes the towns of Wallsend, North Shields and Whitley Bay.

Neil Tennant of the Pet Shop Boys was born in North Shields.

The TV personality Huffty was born in Whitley Bay around 1969.
