The Transex Liberation Group was featured in a groundbreaking episode of the BBC's "Open Door" series on June 4, 1973. This episode gave a platform to four trans women [1] who discussed the struggles they faced, including transitioning, healthcare, relationships, and employment. The show was part of a series called Open Door that aimed to provide a voice to marginalized groups and handed over complete editorial control to these groups without editorial intervention. This approach was seen as revolutionary for its time, as it allowed for a more authentic and unfiltered discussion of trans issues. Guests on the programme included Leo Abse M.P. Della Aleksander who fronted the programme was later associated with far right politics, and in 1995 Searchlight described her as "one of postwar Britain's best-known Mosleyites". She died in 2001 [2].
