It began in 2008 when a group of local LGBT people decided to hold an open-air event: the first year's event consisted of a parade through the centre of Truro, followed by a party in Victoria Gardens and an evening event in a marquee on Lemon Quay. Cornwall Pride is an annual LGBT festival held in Truro in August
