We receive around 20 spam account requests a day, so most requests are rejected. Yours will be approved if you do two simple things:

  • Give your real name, and use an email address that matches it. Requests where the name and email clearly go together are approved; ones where they don't are treated as spam.
  • In the "Why would you like an account?" box below, write one line saying why – for example, a subject you'd like to write about.

Genuine requests that do both of these are approved quickly.

Please read our Terms of Service before completing this form.

The Terms of Service are short and written in plain English. They contain important information about what we expect from contributors — including rules on copyright, advertising, unsuitable content, and how new accounts work. Ticking the box at the bottom of this form means you have read and agree to abide by them.

Once your account is approved, you will be emailed a confirmation and will be able to log in.
