Ipswich is the county town of Suffolk.
LGBT history
There was an Ipswich CHE group in the 1970s. The Falcon and the Blue Coat Boys, both in Falcon Street, were listed in the Incognito Guide 1972 as gay friendly pubs. In 1973 the Sea Horse Inn was listed in Gay News[1]. The Olive Leaf was a popular gay pub in the 1980s.
The Suffolk LGBT Network is based in Ipswich.[2]
There is an Ipswich Gay Men's Book Club.[3]
The Sailing and Cruising Association holds regular meetings in Ipswich.
