Blackburn is a town in Lancashire. The borough of Blackburn was renamed Blackburn with Darwen in 1997, and became a unitary authority the following year.

LGBT history

Charles Fletcher-Cooke was Conservative MP for Darwen 1951-1983.

The Blackburn and Burnley CHE Group was founded in 1972.

In 1973 John Kirby was murdered in Corporation Park.

Gay News issue 36 reports on John Kirby's murder

There were plans to hold a Blackburn Pride in 2013.[1]
