North Lodge, the entrance to Guild Park, the grounds of the former Whittingham Hospital
Whittingham is a parish in the city of Preston, Lancashire. Whittingham Hospital (founded 1869, closed 1995) was at one time the largest mental hospital in the country.

LGBT history

The footballer Lily Parr worked as a nurse at Whittingham Hospital.
