West Hampstead is an area of the London Borough of Camden, adjacent to Hampstead.
LGBT History
West Hampstead residents have included:
- Joan Armatrading – singer and musician, lived here in her early days
- Dirk Bogarde – actor
- Stephen Fry – actor and television presenter
- Matt Lucas – comedian and actor
- Dusty Springfield – singer, born here
- Evelyn Waugh - author, who grew up in Hillfield Road.
Antony Grey, Esmé Langley, Frederick Rolfe (Baron Corvo) and Laurence Collinson all lived at various times in Broadhurst Gardens.
